Shifting Your Mindset to Get What You Want!

mindset mastery

What would you do if you knew you could get all the things you truly wanted, just by shifting your mindset?

And no, I don’t mean you can win the lottery just through mindset shifts, but actually at a fundamental level, being happier with who you are, what you have, how you get what you want and so much more.

Getting more, doing more, being more… maximising your potential.

Just by changing the way you think.

We all have the potential to achieve great things in life.

But sometimes, it can be difficult to know how to reach our full potential, or when you desire more, how to get it.

So let me ask you…

Do you feel like you’re settling for less than what you’re capable of?

Are you afraid to take risks and keep yourself comfortable as a result?

Do you feel stuck or lost?

Do you desire more for yourself, even if life is already pretty great?

Well, it’s time to actually shift your mindset to upgrade life and get what you want.

What is a mindset?

Your mindset is made up of attitudes, beliefs, and assumptions about yourself, your abilities, and the world around you. It will influence how you approach challenges, your resilience in the face of setbacks, and your overall level of motivation and success.

There are two primary types of mindsets: fixed and growth. A fixed mindset is characterised by the belief that abilities are innate and unchangeable, while a growth mindset is identified by believing your abilities can be developed and improved through effort and practice.

What mindset do you currently have?

Having a growth mindset can be particularly helpful in achieving success and personal growth, as it encourages you to embrace challenges and see failures as opportunities for learning and improvement.

A fixed mindset can lead to a tendency to avoid challenges and give up in the face of failure, as you think your abilities are fixed and unchangeable.

So, your mindset is like your very own mental GPS system that guides you through life. It's like having your very own little voice in your head telling you what to do and where to go all based on your attitudes, beliefs, and assumptions about yourself, your abilities, and the world around you.

Your mindset can shift, so you may have a fixed mindset currently, and are very capable or developing a growth one. The type of mindset we have is based our experiences life, made up of our own stories and perceptions, gained directly and indirectly from people around us.

Some of us are great at shifting our way of thinking (our mindset) by breaking old habits and patterns, whilst others stay stuck, in their comfort zones or refusing to adapt to new ways of thinking.

Now, you’re here reading this because you have a belief or are open to the possibility that you can change your mindset.

It’s one of the amazing things about being a human.

We aren’t stuck in our beliefs and mindset patterns; we are in fact in control of these. Knowing they dictate how we show up and the resulting experiences in life.

Shifting your mindset is a lot like becoming an expert at something. It doesn’t happen overnight and it takes commitment and consistency. But it absolutely can be done.

What mindset do you need to shift?

When you think about life, what parts of life do you want to change or improve?

Is it your relationships, your body, your health, your career?

What attitudes, beliefs, and assumptions about this area of your life and your abilities do you have?

Are they that of a growth mindset that allows you to support the changes you want or a fixed one which is keeping you stuck?

The mindset you need to shift your mindset is a strong one, some might say nearly as strong as my coffee or the gallons of builders tea I consume! Your mindset when it comes to changing the way you’re thinking about something needs to be one of conviction and a focus.

WHY this is important to you?

You need to believe you can change, believe in yourself and your abilities to shift towards where you want to be and how you want to think about the life areas you’re looking to change.

It’s helpful if your mindset is one of self-confidence and self-efficacy.

Self-confidence is the belief in your abilities and your worth as a person. It’s the out there type of confidence that puts on THAT dress, wears THOSE heels and struts so hard that everyone stops in their tracks. It’s the quiet confidence that knows you can handle whatever challenges come your way and you trust yourself, knowing that whatever decision you make, whatever the outcome you’ll be absolutely okay and deal with it.

Self-efficacy is the belief in your ability to succeed at a task or achieve a goal. It's like having your own hype woman cheering you on from the side-lines, except it's all happening inside your head. It’s the voice stating how incredible you look as you strut down the street, or what a great job you did of handling a certain situation.

It turns "I can't" into "I can" and "I won't" into "I will". It’s knowing that you have the skills, knowledge, and resources necessary to succeed in a particular task or situation. And if you don’t have them, you’ll figure it out anyway, because you can and you will.

Believing in yourself is a critical part of achieving success and happiness in life.

Cultivating a mindset that reinforces certain beliefs can help you build the confidence and self-efficacy you need to pursue your goals and overcome challenges.

Key beliefs you need to shift your mindset in to one of being able to change the things in life that aren’t working for you…

To believe in yourself, you need to cultivate a mindset that supports this.

Here are 6 beliefs you can adopt to help you get there:

  1. You are capable: Believe that you have the skills and abilities to achieve your goals. You have accomplished things in the past and can do so again in the future.
  2. You are worthy: Believe that you are worthy of success and happiness. Your worth is not based on external factors, but on who you are as a person.
  3. You are unique: Believe that you have something special to offer the world. Your unique experiences, skills, and perspective make you valuable and deserving of success.
  4. You are resilient: Believe that you can bounce back from setbacks and failures. Every failure is an opportunity to learn and grow.
  5. You are in control: Believe that you have the power to shape your life. You can make choices that lead to positive outcomes and take actions that move you closer to your goals.
  6. You are deserving: Believe that you deserve the best in life. You deserve to be happy, fulfilled, and successful.

These beliefs help you develop a mindset that reinforces your self-confidence and belief in yourself to do great things.

Remember to be kind to yourself, celebrate your successes, and learn from your failures.

Now, you might be thinking…

‘These are all well and good, but I still struggle to believe in myself.’

And with compassion and tough love, I tell you that you are making a choice to not believe in yourself.

Is it hard to believe in yourself. Yes, for some people it is.

The alternative, however, looks pretty bleak too.

So what are you choosing? What mindset are you going to choose to have to help you achieve your goals and reach your full potential?

Beliefs are not always easy to create or maintain, because it's natural to have doubts and fears from time to time. But by cultivating a growth mindset and focusing on your strengths, abilities, and what you WANT to believe to be true about yourself and life you can overcome obstacles and reach your full potential.
