5 ways to celebrate where you are now and where you’re going

mindset mastery

Let me start this one off a little differently…

I’d love to ask you a few questions, and for you to be open and honest about the answers with yourself.

And the reason for this is to get you to take a moment to stop and really think about where you’ve been and where you’re going.

If you're up for this, keep reading!

Take the time to really ponder these…

  1. When was the last time you celebrated yourself? Big or small, it doesn’t matter.

  2. When you last achieved something did you celebrate it? Once again, big, or small.

  3. That time you didn’t celebrate yourself, why didn’t you? What stopped you or held you back?

Once you’ve had the time to reflect, how often do you NOT celebrate yourself and your achievements

If you’re anything like me, probably quite a bit.

I 100% get it.

I’ve done it more times than I’d like to admit. I downplay it. Move on to the next things and forget to celebrate what an epic job or thing I’ve just done.

This year I am determined to change that.

Life is one WILD journey, and it’s sooo easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of every day, so much so that we can forget to take a step back and appreciate where we are now and where we're going.

Not only that, slowing down to appreciate hitting those milestones or goals is actually a GREAT thing to keep you motivated and focused on your goals in the long run. You can reflect, congratulate, and then catapult yourself into something amazing.

Let’s explore 5 ways to celebrate where you are now and where you're going.

1. Reflect

Oh yes, starting off strong with some reflective exercises.

Sometimes this step can be the most challenging and that’s because we can be scared to look back at what we may or may not have achieved. We can fall into a comparison trap where we look at what someone else may have achieved and think we aren’t doing enough to get to where we want to be.

Stop to that. Now.

Stop comparing and start reflecting on YOUR journey, not someone else's.

Find time weekly or monthly, to celebrate how far you’ve come by writing down your wins. Smallest things to the biggest things, they all count. How each one has contributed to your growth and development?

Give yourself credit for the hard work and effort you’ve put in, write it down, speak it out with your friends, and allow yourself to fully acknowledge what’s happening in life to set you up for the upcoming month.

2. Treat Yourself

Oh yesss, treat yo’self!

It can be fun to have a reward for your hard work. Something that celebrates you. what you’re doing and how you’re showing up.

Buy that handbag you’ve wanted for a while, book that indulgent spa afternoon, make something delicious for dinner, grab an hour to read a book or listen to a podcast, book a getaway… anything, just make sure it feels special to you and something that appropriately marks the occasion!

It doesn’t have to be extravagant.

A great idea is to write a list of the achievements or goals you want to hit in the next XX timeframe, write each of them on little cards and attach them to small bottles of prosecco, bags of chocolates, gift vouchers for your favourite stores and put them in a ‘celebration box’. When you hit that milestone, you find the card that represents that goal along with whats attached to it and celebrate yourself!

The act itself is enough for you to slow down and take it all in, celebrating you in the process!

3. Share Your Success

You don’t have to keep it to yourself.

Unless you really want it. And I think sharing the great things makes them even greater.

If you want to shout it from the rooftops… DO IT.

If you want to happy dance in public… DO IT.

Sharing your successes with others can be a powerful way to celebrate where you are now and where you're going.

Whether it's with close friends and family or on social media, sharing your accomplishments can help you feel validated and supported.

Validation can get a bad rep, but we all deserve to feel loved and accepted, and as long as we aren’t constantly seeking from a place of less, we’re allowed to share our successes.

Plus, it can inspire others to pursue their own goals and dreams.

4. Surround Yourself with Positive People

Negative Nancy’s no more.

It’s time to surround yourself with positive people who want to see you win.

The people who truly love and support you will celebrate where you are now and where you're going. They’ll pull you up on your behaviour, get you to slow down and will be your biggest cheerleaders when you hit that goal.

The women I surround myself with are my biggest hype team. They are ALWAYS ready to celebrate my wins and haul my arse when I’m being hard on myself. They motivate me when I feel meh and remind me who the f*ck I am when I’m doubting myself.

Surrounding yourself with positivity helps you keep your eye on the bigger picture and your goals when things get tough, which they sometimes do.

5. Set New Goals

Reviewing the goals, you have and setting new goals is a great way to keep you moving forward in life. Doing great things, feeling purposeful and content. It’s also a great way to celebrate where you are now and where you're going. Choose goals that excite, challenge, and align with your values and aspirations for the life you want to life and the people you want to live it with.

Celebrate the progress you make towards your new goals along the way. Remember, life is a journey, you build your purpose as you go, and you sometimes figure out where you’re going as you’re heading there. You don’t need all the answers and all the boxes ticked to get started with new things. Take the leap. You’ve got this.

Celebrating where you are now and where you're going is an essential part of life. Reflecting on your journey, treating yourself, sharing your success, surrounding yourself with positivity, and setting new goals are just a few ways to celebrate your achievements and milestones. Take the time to appreciate where you are now and where you're going.

It’s the journey you want to enjoy, not just the destination.
