How are you showing up in life right now?

We are ALL about that main character leading lady energy, always and forever, even if at times we feel as if we’ve stepped into the understudy role or even the backstage hand! 

Main Character energy has been popping up all over the shop and has now become a social media phenomenon empowering individuals to have more fun and reclaim their power. According to Urban Dictionary having 'main character energy' means that "a person unintentionally lives, breathes, and is like the protagonist in a story or series". 

And honestly? I am here for it! 

We should all be our own main character, love interest and number one cheerleader. So to make sure you’re embodying that leading lady energy and taking up the space you deserve in life, I thought I’d write down 20 affirmations to remind you Who The F**k you really are! 

If you’re a little unclear on what an affirmation is, they’re positive statements that you can read aloud, mutter under your breath whilst doing the laundry or coffee run, write down or stick around your house to help you, empower you and support you in overcoming self-sabotaging and negative thoughts. 

You might think to yourself: 

“Affirmations are just words and don’t do anything.” 

Hold your horses Nelly, because in fact, in one study, a short affirmation exercise saw to boost problem-solving abilities of "chronically stressed" subjects to the same level as those with low stress. I’ll have some of that. 

In another, results highlighted that the women studied experienced a greater reduction in depressive symptoms and negative thought processes through the affirmations, highlighting that affirmation-based practices can support in treating those with low self esteem and other mental health conditions. 

So…in short, affirmations are easy, epic and have scientifically backed evidence supporting the need for you to start speaking to yourself more kindly, more often; out

To Reclaim Your Leading Lady Energy! 

  1.  I am the main character of my life and I write the script. 
    Simple, yet effective. 
  1.  I allow myself to feel my emotions and deal with them at my own pace.
    You don’t need to rush for anyone, set the pace for you and only you. 
  2.  I keep my standards high. I deserve good things. 
    Life is too short for shitty relationships, love interests or jobs you hate, you deserve the best. 
  1.  I am the luckiest person in the world. 
    F**k yes you are, say it louder and say it prouder. 
  1.  Today I am vibin’ & thrivin’
    There is no other way to spend your day… 
  1.  I am creating life on my terms.
    Every day you have a choice, take action and claim it. 
  1.  The positive energy I radiate always returns to me in unexpected ways.
    You are a walking, talking queen…it will come back to you in the most profound ways. 
  2.  I accept every part of my body because it is mine. 
    Add onto the end ‘& I’m f**king amazing’…then we’re onto a winner.

    You are your biggest cheerleader, cheer yourself on every single day.

    These two are NOT correlated, but both can growing equally because you ARE deserving.

    Let go of doing it for others, this is your journey for you to own.

Affirmation Next Steps 

You’ve read them all and now what?

To start I want you to take 5 that resonate with you the most. Or adjust a few to really make them your own! 

Write them down. 

Then you can do some of the following to really make sure they come alive for you: 

  1. Create a phone background with the quotes to see them every day. 

  2. Write them onto post-it notes and stick them on your bathroom mirror and repeat them daily. 

  3. Write them out in your journal every morning. 

  4. Record yourself speaking them and listen to them like you would a podcast. 

  5. Become aware of any limiting thinking you have and quickly reframe back to one of your affirmations to step back into that leading lady energy!
